Cougars Cheerleading Squad |
Simply the Best!!
Carlisle Cougars provide the most professional and thorough cheerleading
training in Cumbria. With fully qualified and insured coaches
you will learn to chant, cheer, tumble and perform stunts in a
safe and fun environment. Affiliated with both the BCA and USAAF,
we provide great quality cheerleading training. The Senior Squad
is for ages 12 to adult and the Juniors for ages 11 and under.
Cougars Xtra is open to all squad members for a little extra training
for keen students!

| Tap |
Good old original
tap dancing for both beginners and intermediates - the classes
run concurrently to one another using both our studios. Learn
drills, exercises and routines and have fun and keep fit the tap
rythymic way! Participants must bring their own tap shoes to class.

Breakdancing/Locking
& Popping
|
An experimental and informal
class where participants will be taught training techniques and
break moves. Students are encouraged to bring ideas (and knee
pads!) and with the instruction of breakdancing demonstrator Dan
and the supervision of school principal Alison, will be instructed
how to create the freshest and funkiest breaking, locking and
popping moves.

| Jazz |
An important technique
class for beginners and advanced students alike. Suitable for
anyone who really wants to learn to dance, you will be taken through
technique exercises and learn routines suited to your level. Recommended
as a basis for all other classes.

| Ballet |
The cornerstone for all dancers! You
will be taken through ballet exercises and learn terminology that
you will come across in all areas of dance. Excellent for strength,
toning and technique. As this class folows the RAD (Royal Academy
of Dance) syllabus it is designed to suit both beginner and intermediate
ballet students. |
| Hip Hop |
The best tunes, the freshest moves, the
baggiest trousers
the place to come if you want to lock, pop
and get funky to the best of current and classic hip hop. Knee pads
recommended - we have some at the studio for borrowing. |
| Jazz/Street/Disco |
This combined class is designed to train
the dancers of tomorrow as well as those who just really love to
dance. A popular class that has been running since 2003, the trilogy
encourages dancers to find their style, learn technique, routines
and performance. Examinations are taken in these subjects for those
with a commitment to progressing their dance training. |
| Fosse-Style
Jazz |
An hour dedicated to this inspiration
of a generation. Bob Fosse's work has gone down in history due to
his innovation and distinct style. In this class we explore Fosse's
techniques, creating work the way he did, through exploration and
attention to detail. Suitable for absolutely everyone, this is a
very exciting and thought provoking class. |

Nursery
(Lafour Prima Dance)

Aimed at children aged 2½ to 4,
this specially designed class uses music and dance to encourage
awareness and self-confidence in youngsters. The ideal stepping
stone for those who want to go on to dance, or just a great Saturday
morning activity, this class is very innovative and I am delighted
to provide it at the studio. |
| Latin Fever |
Learn to Rumba, Cha Cha, Samba, Salsa,
Jive, Rock n Roll and Paso Doble in a relaxed and fun environment.
Open to all levels - partners welcome but not mandatory! |
| Cuban Salsa |
True Cuban Salsa. The original and best.
Alison holds the only affiliated Cuban Salsa teaching qualification
in the country and therefore you are guranteed quality instruction
in this popular style. This class takes you through all the Salsa
Suelta, choreography and turns that you will need to be a truely
great Cuban Salsa dancer! |
